About Me

Curtis B. Emmons was born and raised in Killeen. His roots in Bell County run deep, not only through his family but through the homes, neighborhoods, and businesses he’s helped build here. For Curtis, service isn’t abstract; it’s measured in concrete poured, jobs created, and communities strengthened. Curtis is a third-generation owner of B.A. Emmons Homes, a family business that has been building in Central Texas for more than 50 years. His own journey started at the bottom: cleaning job sites, hauling trash, and learning every trade from the ground up alongside his father. Over time, he moved from “punching out” houses to leading the company, expanding into consulting, commercial construction, and land development. Along the way, he earned certification as a Master Builder. Today, he’s proud to work with his own sons, teaching them the same lessons of craft, responsibility, and service that shaped him.

For Curtis, building has never just been about walls and foundations. It’s about opportunity. Over the years, he has employed young men and women who needed a chance to prove themselves. Many went on to military careers, earned security clearances, became leaders in health care, management, and law enforcement. He believes the structure and discipline learned on the job can carry into a lifetime of success.

But his service doesn’t stop at the worksite. Curtis has been active in his church, at First Baptist Killeen, and has served his community through Wreaths for Vets and the Central Texas Home Builders Association, where he followed in the footsteps of his father and brother as president. Now, Curtis is ready to take his experience and leadership to the next level — serving as County Commissioner for Precinct 4.
